New Superfloor recordings
« on: April 05, 2011, 05:44:19 AM »
A while ago we recorded a gig in our local pub with a 24 track hard disk recorder. Just for ourselves to do some pre-production for the new album; See if everything is in place. Maybe decide to change some things in the songs. Try some different mixes. You get the idea.
Anyway, here's a few of the new songs that we have. Just the live recordings as we played them. A rough and honest mix. No overdubs.

Thanx guys.

@ Bret:
Yes these recordings are with the new guitarist.
Actually we haven't decided when and where we will record the new album.
Since the recording of the demo/worktapes that you've just heard was so incredibly easy (read cheap), we're even considering making the new album a live album.
A bit like what The Black Crowes did with their "Before the frost..." album.

All we need to do is record a live gig, use a little bit more mics. And have it mixed in a proper studio.
With our former guitarist that was out of the question as he would tense up if there was a tape running...
Fortunately our new guitarist does not have that problem.

We have that problem with one of the guitarists in the Crocs which is why we only have live recordings of that band.

Coolness. Rock and roll! I dug your track from the Gibson Pit CD too.

I recommend a glass or two of universal relaxant...  ;)

Nice stuff, Rob and Floor - are you using an LP?

Thanks for making them downloadable, too...

Yes, my self built LP. The Brooks Bass.
To be honest that bass didn't sound the way it should have. When we recorded it I still hadn't get round to rewiring it and solve some probems.
The bass lacked authority and punch.
It gave me quite a few problems with the mixing of the recordings. Still not 100% happy with the mix. I'd love to hear your opinions on the mix.
I'm still mixing and forever changing little things  ;)

Last week we got some airplay with Arrow Rock Radio (www.arrow.nl). They played "Tossin' & Turnin", but it sounded awful with the compression they processed. Somehow the combination of the compression I gave it and theirs didn't work at all...
