i wish i had the luxory to just buy more, but  I coach music at a charity special needs unit, our string supply is dependant on the generosity of  backline guys I crew for at the local Arena, so I get a lot of packs already missing a top E, and the kids break them more often than any others resulting in me having a big box of bottom E to B strings and no top E's , so I had to spend some of my meagre budget on a bulk load of Top E's....

coffee disaster involving a bunch of geetar strings in paper jackets  , whats best to stop em rusting?

 a lovely story about how Johnson came to be in AC/DC,  dunno if its true but I hope so..

apparently before moving to Aus, Bon Scott had played in a band that supported Brian Johnson's band, and he had made such an impression on Bon that he had talked about him as an inspiration to the AC/DC guys. So when they were considering a new singer, one of them went " hey lets track down that guy Bon was always banging on about" and the rest as they say is history

I always wonder about that - shouldn't that give you more fretting hand strength and dexterity? When you think about it, especially as a pick player, using your "main hand" just for hitting the strings is kind of a waste.

 that is something that has always perplexed me too,

I think it is that we're focusing our attention on the fretting hand and letting the plucking hand act more intuitively and don't realise just how much of the feel of the note being played comes from the way the strings are hit.

He did his flight training with my next door neighbour, and waaay back, my mother in law was his fencing coach

 I toured a lot with an act where, band and crew, I  was the only non Glaswegian, so I got pretty good at unnerstannin it, but there always came a point , about 4 pints into the afterparty/busride that I was suddenly in a room full of people talking a foreign language ...

 The same band, the singer lived down here so we used to fly up to Glasgow together from Gatwick before heading off wherever, and His accent used to get progressively thicker as the plane  got closer to Scotland.
