Nice Long Scale 73 Jetstar II on ebay

Another beauty. The past couple of weeks would be an excellent time to have a pile of disposable income.

I've wanted one for a while and on the prowl for a bass, but unfortunately I need a smaller nut width...

That's a lovely bass.  With a weight of 8.5 pounds, it just MIGHT balance OK with the right strap...the auction points that out.  I suspect it's still somewhat of a neck-diver.

It seems that a lot of basses many of us like are neck divers. We need to start a self help group. Hello my name is Bill and I like neck divers. Wow, I feel so much better now.

Even the short scale JS II is a real neck diver, I can't see how the right strap will help this one.

This one is so rare, he ought to get his asking price or close to it. Not from me, though. I'm no longer a JS fan, owning one cured me of that.

Just didn't fit me. The way it hangs, my right hand was always behind the bridge. I had to hold the neck up. It was just a bother, and while it sounded nice, it was nothing special to me.

Back in the 50s to 70s, Guild was either the poor man's Gibson or poor man's Gretsch, depending on which model. They never really broke out of that mold. Their few unique guitars and basses were failures. They were never really successful in the marketplace with any of their models.

Jeez no kidding - some amazing gear coming out of the woodwork.  Probably tax season taking its toll     Would have loved that LPS, and still drooling over the Jaydee...

I haven't seen one of these for a long time.  I saved a pic of one somewhere that reveals what looks like a maple neck on the long scale JSs (edit: duh- just noticed he mentions that in the auction).
