Egads, perhaps this perversion of the language can be expected on a site like Engadget.
I suspect that what this doohickey (sorry, it's German, should probably be a "hickeymitdogoodness") will do is simply put the vehicle into test mode so that the emissions are corrected.
If it's not doing something like this, why wouldn't VW have already been installing this $.99 part in every diesel's air path?
And perhaps Uwe can favor us with a more authentic sounding made-up 12-syllable German term for the aforementioned doohickey? Could be fun!
