The only issue is that there was some funny business....some type of repair on the top of the body near the control cavity..between the vol/tone knobs and the jack. Otherwise, unbroken.

Gibson Basses / Wacky Baz Cooper is at it again! Funny stuff!!
« on: August 25, 2013, 03:33:48 PM »
Ok...so NO...I did not trade any Reverse 1960's T birds for a Jazz bass....howEVER.....I have been offered a 1967 Embassy even trade for my 1969 NR T bird II....Only problem I see..is that MY Bird has UN filed Un Notched Saddles and the copper mutes...felt..covers case...while the Embassy has FILED saddles and missing 3 of the 4 acorn nuts....has the case...from Rivington Guitars in NY. Thoughts??
Should I do it/? And Tell Him I want to keep my bridge??? Or am I just NUTS???? Do Embassy basses KILL T Birds??? I mean...it's basically the same bass....Thoughts??? Other than the above, both basses are original and unbroken.
Thanks in Advance.

For 2 years I had put up with a Mid Life Crisis Corporate Control freak Guitar player extraordinaire turned semi decent singer/songwriter and a killer drummer who is a basket case Bi-Polar mania mental case...These are the guys I scored the deal with Mercury back in 1991. It could have been a cool band...IF we had a lead singer and not the guitar player attempting to sing. They refused to do my songs...only the guitar players....Sad fact-our Guitar player had become the man he hated most-our ex lead singer. I could not take the demeaning and degrading, insults and the fact that they were treating me like it was 1991. Apparently, too much baggage and too many issues...
So.....a week after I quit...I play with John Densmore from the Doors at a block party...then........a week later....
I traded my 200 watt Hiwatt stack for a 1977 T bird.....which I traded for a '69 Custom shop Stratocaster (That was a REALLY NICE GUITAR) and a Rickenbacker 12 string (Neck was too small, strings too close). Then I wound up selling both of those and buying this:
A 1969 All Original UNbroken Gibson Non Reverse Thunderbird II.

I can't put this bass down!!!!!!!

Gibson Basses / HIGH action on a '77 Thunderbird
« on: June 30, 2013, 09:24:23 AM »
Just picked up a Natural '77 bird...great bass...nice neck..nice tone...but even with the bridge sunk all the way down, the action is still a wee bit high. Is there any way to obtain replacements saddles without having to file the notches deeper??? Or any other solutionwithout putting on a new bridge??
