Gibson Basses / Black Thunderbird Pickups

Does anybody know the difference between the older and newer black thunderbird pickups?? I think the older ones had a P bass style (staggered) hidden under the black cover, while the newer ones are more of the traditional style. I'm also looking for 1 of the older P style black pickups as well.

But it makes me sad to look at this. I used one of these, same color back in Daisy Chain (pre-Mindbomb-Mercury) 1989-1991 when we tore up Chicago with our Platform boots, Lipstick and Long Hair.

Just got it today!!!!! It's the first version with the red and blue SVT and the SVT II Pro not  SVT 2 Pro. I can't believe how good and LOUD my 8 string Non-Reverse sounded!!!! Even at low volume, you can FEEL the bass!!!!

I am back to my old tricks again and making another Non-Reverse Thunderbird 8 string bass. Only this time it's going to be White Korina with a maple neck!!! Anybody know where I can find a 1 piece body blank??? Roughly 1 1/2" x 22" x 15". Thanks!
