I finally broke down and had to get a new cell phone.  I got a $1 upgrade option from AT&T.  I now have the LGC395, which is basically handy for calls, text, and limited internet.  It has a music player, which is nice with the 2 Gb chip I put in.

The volume on the music player goes to 11.   No joke.
