You don't need to insult Gibson's hardware - they do it themselves.

Anywho, I want that new flight case that the SGs come with - my vintage EB3 has been in an il-fitting Ibanez case for far too long.

Looking at some of the talking points on the Gibson site it is amazing hwat sort of marketting BS they come up with (see the bit about the jack; lol, same old switchcraft when you look at the pick for the 'heavier guage wiring").  Though it is nice to know they have thicker one pc rosewood boards now.

And perhaps Henry will buy a sporting goods brand and add Gibson BASS Boats and BASS Fishing products!!

Well, the SG standard is short scale with two pickups.  That ought to work nicely.

And I note that they clearly state it's glued together with Titebond 50. Without that vital information, how could I consider one?

Played the Bird, it needed a set up (of course!) Gibson can't set these up any better than a 3 point, no surprise!

The 2015 Thunderbird and SG Standard basses do have a 3-point version of the Babicz bridge.

FWIW, Sweetwater, Amazon and a few other sites are still listing a 2015 V series Bass for $3999. Still no pics though.

 It's a bit different than the one on the EB, also the 'Bird a spacer block underneath it to raise it up, probably to compensate for the neck relief - I wasn't diggin' it.

Both my Epi LP Special Bass and T-Bird Studio have that Hipshot-ish bridge (NOT a Supertone). I think those work pretty well.
