So, it's a Melody Maker.

Finish looks nice.  Seems to be missing the typical Melody Maker Bass features, ya think?

Shortened the link for you.

Yeah, typical Melody Maker.

Will you be going after this one? Could wind up being a bargain.

I have been watching that, might bid. I'll stand down if someone really wants it.

At least two of us understand that this is not a Melody Maker bass. Three if Harry sees this thread.

AFAIK the EB-0 was never offered in blue. The Melody Maker bass did come in Pelham Blue and burgundy, but the bass in the auction is not a Melody Maker. Wrong headstock, tuners, controls, bridge, pickguard. It's a refin EB-0.

I count 8.   ;D

Too bad I'm tight on funds right now.  Besides, I have the Newport already.

Yeah, that is a fun project, and the price is right at least for now.  I like the finish.  And the damage is fixable with that on there.  With all that and scads of wrong info, it is a good one to take a shot at.  I am not going for it as I am in the home stretch of my EB3enstein project.  I hope somebody here scores it.

Dave is insulting us, collectively.  :o We now have to repeat every observation on a misdescription of a bass to remain credible.

In fact I thought that this was evidently/first sight not a Melodymaker (scratchplate & routing), I found it appealing because it wasn't. To me Melodymakers will forever feel kalamzooish (the brand, not the plant) and therefore cheap. But I can understand that the fin might have led someone other than a Gibson bass diehard in the wrong direction.
