Neat clip of JAE with a Thunderbird
« on: March 02, 2010, 06:34:06 PM »
Too bad this clip is so short because it shows exactly how dexterous JAE was and how lightly he seemed to hit the strings.

Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

He's so cool an' cas at that point; like it's effortless.
So glad I got to see The WHO with him & Moon at their peak- 1972.

Jack Casady seems to have that light touch too.

There's a 4-string bass balalaika (I've only seen 3-stringers) and a contrabass mandolin behind JC.
The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

The V is a faker.

Haha, yep. I love the explanation given in his book about his two fakes...

Nice vids, I already seen the second one with Jack Casady, but the first one's new for me.  Yep, JAE had a very light touch and a very low action on his basses.
