Title: RIP T-Bone Wolk
Post by: Chaser001 on March 01, 2010, 11:50:57 AM
I was saddened to learn that T-Bone Wolk passed away.  People mostly seem to remember him from Hall and Oates and SNL, but he did a lot of bass playing other than that, too.

Wow.  58 is too young to go.  Heart attack, no less.   Sad news.

I heard on the 12 o'clock news as my wife and I were heading to lunch.  Very sad news indeed!  Such a tasty bass player.  R.I.P.

Check out the lick at 2:08 where he snaps his fingers.  I always loved that!  He really acknowledged Motown on this one.

I am sure Rhythm n Bliss meant to say T-Bone Burnett.  T-Bone Walker died in 1975.

Yeah, yeah~ Burnett. Too many T-bones.
One less now to reduce the confusion.

"They call it Stormy Monday..."

My bud said Wolk was the H&O music director as well as being their bassist so he'll be sorely missed.

Yeah that's probably right ;D. I'm a big T Bone Walker fan, I should have known when he died.
How come there are so many T Bones and nobody went with Porter House or New York Strip ???

RIP T-Bone Wolk. A great musician. Never needed to be some pappy-whackin' technical uber goober. Soulful and talented did him just fine. One of my faves. :-[
