Hey Rex Is that SB1 the same bass in your avatar pic? How'd it get green? blue nitro shade change or refin? and welcome.

In terms of looking hot for a long time, from any era, I think it's hard to beat Marlene Dietrich. Look at her in 1932 in Shanghai Express and then in 1958 in Touch of Evil and she holds up solid. She was bi too.

Any songs that mention her besides Madonna's Vogue?

Diana Rigg looks like a cross between tv catwoman Lee Meriwether and Natalie Wood.

I just thought these different women were good contasting examples of how differently they approached their looks as they aged. Looks aside, Sophia will always be remembered as a great actress, Joan a talented comedian, Brigitte maybe wasn't the best actress but is definitely and admirable woman. So Dave who floats your boat from the 70 plus gang? Ursulla Andress perhaps?

Don't think she had much work done. I think it's cool she was in Matthew Barney's multimedia art exhibit The Cremaster Cycle I saw at the Guggenheim in NYC.

Brigitte used to be damn fine!

and then...

How about Joan Rivers? She looks younger at 79 than she did in 1965!

Yeah a reproduction EB0 would be nice, but I'm guessing that the original mudbucker with 25,000 wraps on the coils won't be made again by Gibson. For what it's worth my double cut Les Paul bass is a wonderful instrument and one I would never trade or sell.

I like the Schaller M4 look of the Grovers. I can't say the weight of them is a noticible factor on my bass.

Day left on this one, no bites. Love my 07' money so much makes me gas for these too. The toggle is a 3 way pickup selector right? and knobs are v/t/v/t? The earlier unchambered carved tops without the toggle were all active I think. Thoughts?

Mind you, personal health effects aside, drunk and high isn't necessarily a bad thing. Lord knows (not John) in the pantheon of rock there have been many a great bassline recorded under those influences. I just meant they sounded both sloppy and at times rushing.

Glenn and Roger both sound simultaneously drunk and high on coke. I always admired what Nicky Simper did in MKI. Such a nice clean and in the pocket 60's pop fender p bass sound. Love that version of Help.

Now the zep fans and dead heads have something in common. They will both lay down a bunch of dough to subject themselves to a band that is a shell of its former self and way past its prime. The last years of Jerry's performances where pretty depressing and cringe worthy. So was the zep reunion IMO. The rabid and hysteric demand of the Zep loving masses would have come out to see Plant even he had a tracheotomy and sang through a voice box. Some things are best left in the past.

The thing is, if Gibson ever did this, it would sell at two to three times as much as something like a Bach or Cataldo... and would be outperformed by them, too. And Gibson knows that. Unfortunately, the small market that there is for an authentic T-bird won't be truly happy with anything that Gibson puts out, because they can't make something that true to the original that they'd be comfortable selling for a mass market price point. It would have to be sold at a collector's price point and be made in a very limited run. and no one's gonna spring for that when there are other viable options right now.

Much like Les Paul players are never satisfied with any reissue or 'tribute' line of LP's so Gibson sells artist specific signature reissues that are pretty much vintage accurate for five digits. It's that or something like a Rist.

My buddy has a lot of nice guitars and says his re-issue 3 pickup black beauty Les Paul blows them all away. Gibson is 90% of the way there with the 9 ply neck through construction, something you can't get from any other builder. I don't see how adding a new bridge, chrome hardware and offering the option of one less pickup could change the current price point so drastically.
