Just for fun: The most off key bass playing you've ever heard.

Well then I guess we've all seen and heard some really off-key playing and I thought that it would be fun to share our moments of toenails curling upwards.

Now I'm a real admirer of the band Talk-Talk and their musicraft but their bass player should've stayed clear of anything fretless...

Don't shoot me for this but Rick Danko also should've stayed away from fretless basses, at least for the recording of this clip anyway.

Man, that Talk Talk was painful! I love their stuff, but.... Maybe he was having an off night? :-\

And Danko - he should have stayed away from the bong!  ;D Seriously though, classic, rock, bass stylists shouldn't do instructional videos. Every one I've seen is embarrassing and hard to watch. They just never capture what it is about these guys that makes them so great.

I guess not...

Okay it's a given that two wrongs don't make a right. And I have a thing or two to say about Jack Bruce's fretless playing but when he teams up with Uli Jon Roth you get two guys with considerable technique and utterly atrocious intonation.

I found another "sink-and-stink" clip.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers -  "Jungle man" live in 1985 during their first European tour supporting George Clinton. I guess the sound says enough here...

I have played a Wishbass and liked it

Mind you now having heard Wishnevsky himself play one, has brought a whole new dimension to the thought process involved in the building and design.

Regardless of the fact that was a Wishbass, I thought the music was just awful (not to mention the tone). Definitely not what I'd consider a good marketing video.

You Americans! :o

I had never heard of Wilfred Brimley until this post so I checked him out. OMG, how bizarre.

I love one guys comments though:

:Andrew Wilson, of Joplin, MO, had a near-death experience with Brimley as the murderer rode through town on his Harley. “I was workin’ at the fillin’ station,” said Wilson, “and he pulled up and put one big boot on the ground and just shouted, ‘fill ‘er up!’ I explained to him that we weren’t a full serve station, and that he would have to pump it himself, and he just stuck that big ol’ Bowie knife in my gut without hesitating. Man, did that hurt! Luckily, it missed every major organ, so I’ll just have this cool scar to show my friends.”

FFS mate! are you serious, you just about got killed but its OK 'cause the scar is cool? LOL

Or this guys....

Norman Urler of Tahlequah, Okla., is less than impressed. “Heh, he thinks he’s so big and important with that ‘Liberty Mutual’ crap. Doesn’t he remember when he was just a schmuck TV actor who always played the grandfather? Well, I guess he’ll have plenty of time to think about it in prison while he’s being anally raped by a bunch of heavily muscled black men. Serves him right, sick bastard.”

I'm sorry guys but the comedy in this made me laugh out loud

What a classic comment.

Here is the story I read regarding WB for those few others who (like me) were ignorant of this event.
