So I just had an L5-S1 Fusion performed.  while the evidence that the initial and subsequent injuries where work related, I'm wondering how many other Bass players are out there with bulging, herniated or de generating discs.
Whit our generally heavy amps, Cabs and even some instruments (i just got rid of a 12 lbs 5 string).

misery loves company... and other bad back rockers out there?

Bill's Shop: Projects, Mods & Repairs / NR Home Bulid

My Father in law and I have been slowly working on this project.
Actually, I've wanted to do it for years, but never got around to it until Carlo inadvertently gave me the nudge i needed.

We started with this gorgeous 2 piece blank of rare figured mahogany

the blank was 2 1/8" thick, so we cut about 1/2" inch off the top, planed it and sanded it before joining the halves together.
I tried to convey that it woud be easiest to rout the neck pocket before cutting the body shape, but when nextcame to the shop the body was cut. So I laid the neck area out and prayed for the best

Gibson Basses / Early Thunderbird custom color headstocks?
« on: July 03, 2013, 04:39:22 PM »
Hello,  I've been mostly quietly reading these forums for a little while and had a Question.

I've seen a few pics of both a Polaris White and a Inverness green Solid color '63-'64 Thunderbirds where the whole headstock was the solid color.  No black face.

Can anyone confirm if this actually happened or if they are likely refins?

I know I've seen a natural like this too some where.

To clarify, I'm talking about Early Gen 1 Reverse Thunderbirds pre 1965.
I know that the solid color Non Revs had matching solid color headstock.

Thanks.
