Plus, the real ones have bolt on necks. :-\

I was referring to the real Rutherford.

I get the feeling the rears were not aligned to make transitioning between the necks easier. The guitar is set farther foward in a more natural playing position in regards to the fretting hand.

It does make sense, but it's not like the real one which has no mating lines or curves.

No doubt he wanted the area between the upper horns to be continuous. The overall effect just doesn't look right to me, though.

I meant the lower edge, looks like two guitars glued together, not sure how the real RUTH was done in this respect though, the bridge on the bass looks pretty much where it should be, so extra body on the 12 string I suppose.

Actually, a much better attempt than this one, where two Ric's died, although this guy got the horn near right, WTF happened to the meeting of bodies ???.

Interesting, as all the V63's and the CS's have a scratchplate that extends very close to outer edge of the body around the jack area and above, this one hasn't and is more like they should be. Never could work out why they did this as it didn't fit any part of the history of the bass.

Thing I could never understand was the guard was nowhere near right on these and the CS, it goes too near the edge of the body in the area of the Bridge Volume control.

Great info guys!  I guess that would explain this!   :)

What an awesome shot, looks like Geezer was very happy with it.

Hughes didn't play the Ric for long though, he reverted to his beloved P Bass midway in the Burn tour.

He had sold it to Geezer Butler.

That ought to reach 4K with no problem.

Some issues with the binding I think. Not sure why the wings were omitted on these later ones :-[

You were right. "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

Looks like it's back up again. I suppose the first listing should have read, "The listing was ended because the seller won the auction".

Basses like that usually don't start at $0.99 no reserve. Wanna venture a guess?

It will be very interesting to see, I would say it'll get proper money, if it actually gets real bids and no shill, unfortunately most pieces don't last the duration without intervention.

Looks pretty much all there, but for the 4003 treble pickup. Crazy bit of maple that.

Now imagine that Turquoise with gold guards... Like the old Cloverfield Green.

Or either with a Squire Wing Job...

That is a very fine piece of wood, love the fret board too.

Still have it, although modified to Vol/Vol/Tone control. Yeah, don't understand the "anemic" comment. Raising the pickups may have been needed.

Very 64 that headstock, looks superb.
