Its a GK 1001RBII thru 2 4x10 SBX cabinets with a LINE6 pedal. I've had it about 3 years, so far its done pretty well. Its lots easier (for me) to move two smaller cabs than a single 8x10, and its loud, I've never even had it at half volume....it would likely kill something! Nice amp...

"Mark, I probably wasn't making myself clear. I was making a little joke about appearance, not criticizing the vocals. IMO Kim Wilde was very hot back in the day."

Ahhh , Okay. We've all been working her on that, and to her credit she underwent a cosemtic surgery and has made a lot of changes to her apperance. much for the better. We played N.Y.E and the crowd loved her......which is what is supposed to happen. This her and I during that show

"But I gotta say, your singer is no Kim Wilde in 1981.  Of course Kim Wilde 2008 isn't Kim Wilde 1981 either."

Gotta say, playing the bass on this song is nothing compared to the vocal chore, even the background (that's me!) stuff is very hard. We have to play this after we're warmed up a bit, it's just that hard.

Gibson Basses / Re: Hello, I am A Gibson Bass addict......
« on: January 18, 2008, 03:23:18 PM »
I play Gibsons because alot of the bass players I first listened to did. My first bass was a Japanese EB copy, from about '72. My first real Gibson was a '76 'Bird that I got for all of $350 around '78. That one got away from me  :'( truly one I wish I'd never let go. I went until 1989 without a Gibson, )tho there were many other basses in that time) an add for a local shop said they had an '88 re-issue 'Bird, I was there the next day I wanted it SO bad. I gave them some money as a down payment and proceeded to hawk everything I didn't need to pay that bass off. It is of course my White one, for 19 years now my steady player with the black hardware....Now it's my chromey lover! From there, many other basses have crossed my path, Rick's Rich's, Musicman, Kramer, F****r, Epi, truth is:  When a Thunderbird was found, I usually bought it at the expense of anything else. Today there are only 'Birds roosting at my house with the sole exception being a Washburn AB20 ABG........If Gibson ever made an acoustic 'Bird I have one of those too  ;D

I don't think I've ever posted this anywhere, its a video of the band set against our studio recording, so things aren't completely sync'd, but its not bad. I used my Green '76 for the recording, in the vid I'm playing my Black '77.....yeah, that one George  ;D

I rather fancy the drunk-girls-at-fancy-dress-parties project. Mark must have some data we can use.

Right now I'm nursing a hangover that's making my head feel the same size as the wig in my pic.......
Dress me up and send me out, no problem its all that much more fun when you're stylish or in a costume. Rare is the alcohol that I don't like.......

 Yeah John that's it!

I'm thinking one from Terrapin  Silver with that stamped or etched (if they can do it) plus at least one black one. Love the 'Bird!

I don't care what you say about Uranus, but if I may quote....
