HNGD! Lefty fender mustang bass
« on: October 05, 2009, 11:30:32 AM »
As some of you might know I have an weakness for short scaled basses en I really love the fender Short-scales.

I own three lefty musicmaster basses and I always wanted a pre'76 mustang with competition stripes. Looked on the internet for some time to find one, and a month ago there she was. On Ebay.co.uk. A true Beauty. Love at first sight. I just got to have her. Original LPB but darkend over the years to a kind of Sherwood greenish.

And here she is. Standing proud in my collection.

It plays and sounds just like a dream.

She's a beauty. You sure that was LPB? I've never seen one go that deep a green before.

I really think so, on the places where the cover used to be, you still can see the blue spots. And on the chips on the back you can see traces op LPB on the edges.

It has become very dark indeed.

It obvious that this bass is been used very much. My three lefty musicmaster are aal three of them whit ones that had matured into a vanilla like colour but alle three of them have a different teint of yellow.

If you can see the blue then it really must be LPB.

It looks as dark as my old Sherwood Green Strat.

Wow, that's one of the prettiest Mustangs I've ever seen! Nice score, great! I love comp stripes!

I once had a Musicmaster, but it was just too small on mee. Like a toy guitar. Other shortscales, like a Gibson EB3, have more body, a longer neck. That suits better. A Rivoli is of course no problem.

But still I would love to have an orange comp stripe Mustang!!

That is just fantastic. And you know I share your love for Fender short scales, so I know how good it sounds. Congrats on that rare beauty.
