It's not a real MechBass - it plays with a pick.

Yes, they will have to work on that.  :)

Are Muse always this whiney?

I'd unplug it. That bass line is too much fun to play with fingers!

To some extent, but especially since Matthew Bellamy got together with Kate Hudson.  But I've already posted a topic on how much I hate their new album--so, I repeat myself.

The video is nothing more than "melodic sounds strung together without soul," which can only be provided by a living, breathing homo sapien.   8)   Besides, our mistakes and variations when we play make us more endearing to the listener.  Who could warm up to this perfect machine???

I find the listening experience interesting and uncanny. You hear it's not a synth, yet it sounds like a machine. Or like the guy who plays with Dream Theater which is pretty much the same.

Yeah, Uwe.  Good one......Dream Machine where "machine" is the operative word.  Just because we can mechanize anything doesn't mean we should!

When it gets down to it, "Hysteria" kind of has a machine-like quality to it anyway, even when played by humans.

Out of a job?
Hardly.

I mean, someone's gotta program that thing.

Yeah, but the machine isn't going to bitch about the drummer keeping lousy time ;)

Well enough.  Got married, had a kid, got a new studio.  .... same old day job though.

The new handles are making this a bit challenging though.

I'm still rubbing my eyes. I thought you were dead. Run over by a German tank or something after one of your unwarranted attacks on German border stations and then we get the blame as usual ...

I was thinking of you recently when Toronto crossed my mind. And I thought: Now what have we done to drive him away?

Gibt es den Victory noch? Ms Jake is the former city planning and zoning student, ja?

Ja.

The Wiff is now a professional urban planner with considerable experience under her belt.  Turned out to be quite the ambitious career woman actually.

Jr is now 2 years old and I have slowly been able to come out of the nesting cave.  I can't go to shows as much anymore so I had to start bringing the shows to me (built a recording studio / event space .... see the rig thread).   I still have my IT job, but I also do recording and gear fixing/custom cables/speakers on the side.  Just finished the test production run of my new monitor speaker.  A 1x12" guitar/bass/PA cab is the next product we're developing (from the prototypes I built years ago, that some of you might recall).

edit: my spelling has not improved at all in my time away I'm afraid.

Ah... I've heard of you, (literally, on the CD, iirc) and your AWOL status, prior to my invading the site, that is...

I mostly post drivel and change names on an annual basis, as most will confirm... ;D

Welcome home... ;)

Welcome back! Not much has changed, just more (anti)chrome stuff maybe, some Deep Purple references and ofcourse more sexual disorder.

Not to mention compulsive WWII and train trivia.

So we've moved on from tanks and fighter aircraft?

Old age really is like a second childhood; Jr is totally into the Choo Choos as well.

Of course we still do tanks and fighter aircraft. We don't move on ever. Progression is for people who don't know better.

Jon Lord died during your absence. He played with me in Deep Purple years back. I am Ritchie Blackmore, but Uwe is my new handle here.

I major (PITA) in WWII SEAC trivia, poor aircraft recognition, and Scotland-the-Brave... (hoots mon...!) all wrapped up in a strange London accent (Scottish sleeper cell, but I can't talk... oops...)
