The pickups probably sound better than the originals ;)This would be a cool bass to have I think.

I kinda like it too.  It's like the Charlie Brown xmas tree - just needs a little love, and some Thunderbuckers...   :)

Oh, definitely. I hate that he's selling the bridge separately though. Hot on the heels of the NR purchase, I don't have spare money for it now. That said, I do love a beat up bass. At least the trim rings are still around the pickups!

In the previous discussion about it was some consensus reached that it is mostly likely an original one? I've seen reliced stuff before but I don't think this one is. If it's a repaint, it was done a long time ago.

Ha, How many times has this been on the bay in the past year?  I guess I always assumed it was a refin just because in the last pick you can see blue paint overspray on the edge of the TR cover.  & the pic of under the bridge looks like there is a coat of clear underneath the blue???

Either way it would be fun to have (at half the price)

Definately not the original finish.

And I would guess the headstock had been broken and repaired.

It's a bit sparkely for 60s Pelham, no (and most that I've seen IRL, which would be about 2, and not TBirds, are kinda greenish now)?

I wouldn't even call it Pelham.  It's another colour altogether.

Some of you may remember that a friend of mine sold his 77 refin within the past 2 years. His was an old black and yellow refin and had Jazz pickups installed when he bought it back in the 90s. However, it came with the original pickups in a box when he bought it, and he had reinstalled them. It also had the original bridge, and there was no evidence of a neck break, though he couldn't be sure what was under the finish. He sold it $1500-$1600.

That's a far cry from this one. That's a refin for sure. It's not impossibly bad or anything like that, but IMHO it's overpriced considering what it needs.

Kind of garish, but not bad. At least not boring.
