Other Bass Brands / My first Bachbird.....
« on: October 14, 2010, 12:48:31 PM »
Well Guys,
finally, after having owned Alembics and Status and so on I am on the bas(s)ic trip. I started some time ago with two Greco T-Birds, which are simply gorgeous for the money.
And now I got my first Bachbird, NR, white one, first series, used at a very low price including Bachcase and this thing is simply awesome. Really great sound!
I think I need to buy more.....

I needed to put on our band's sticker.......

Other Bass Brands / John Entwistle Tribute Spyder Bass
« on: June 28, 2009, 12:52:44 AM »
Hi Uwe,
hi Guys,
well it has been a very long time since I had been in here.
So I just wanted to show you my new project.
You might know that I play with the german WHO tribute WHO ARE YOU.
So I had this bass in the buildt for 4 years now. It is not intented to be an Alembic replica,
but a tribute to John Entwistle and the Spyder basses.
I wanted to have the original design of the Spyder bass, with modern electronics and at a reasonable
price as I wanted to use this bass on stage of course.
The bass was buildt by UK luthier Feline Guitars. The core wood is walnut with thick birds eye maple top and
back, it has custom wound Kent Armstrong pickups and Status-Graphite Buzzard 1 electronics.
Only the fingerboard inlays were not possible to make, so the decision for the plain fingerboard.

What do you think?

Gibson Basses / Epi T-Bird - I am really surprised
« on: August 29, 2008, 12:44:14 PM »
Well guys,

after beeing mainly an Alembic guy I took the money to buy an Epi T-Bird because they are really that cheap here in Germany now that I couldnĀ“t resist.
Well normally I am no fan of bolt necks but I was really surprised on the sound of this bass.
Okay the action was a bit high so at first I brought it to Entwistle level (" I love my strings behind the frets")
and I must say it sounds awesome now through my Ashdown Bentley rig.....

Cheers
Oliver
