« on: June 02, 2010, 08:48:39 AM »
The ecatelogue is viewable on line...

The Peter Cook "FLAME" bass - est £15-20K - P28 lot 172 - reputedly used on TOTP in the early seventies (although I cannot find footage) where JAE used a matching flame red/yellow suit - somebody have that footage...?

The 1962 white "SLAB" Precision - est £8-10K - P22 lot 136 - this is reputedely one of his earliest instruments with the Who, originally sunburst - provenance is an accompanying letter from JAE...

Researching as I type so posted - will put links on soon...

edits...
There is also a 1971 triple humbucker SG used on the '71 US tour by Townshend (remarkable that it survived...!?!?!) est £20-30K

Hi Res pic, sold for $33,000 USD in '88.  Will be interesting to see what the market is today.

The flame bass is nasty! Love the Alembic spider though. I believe that one sold for around $82,000 back then.

Funny & kinda sad that Dorothy's ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz went for $666,000.00 (Yes, 666!!!) at auction in Y2k but Entwistle's basses won't sell for near as much.

Hate to say it, Terr, but mention Judy Garland to most and they will know her name, but say JAE, and they will all say WHO...?

Kinda ironic, don't you think... ;)
