Man I lusted after one of them so bad when I was 14.

At $450 I would be all over it if it were for sale here.
Always found it interesting that these apparently had Mahogany bodies.

Yeah, the one I had was really heavy too.  Probably 12 pounds!  I also found that my hand would bump the lower cutaway bent horn when I'd got up and hit the high notes.  I just think these look so cool.


Well, that didn't take long!  Someone must have bought it because it is already on Ebay with a 1K price.

There was a Black Eagle that floated around locally years ago and the bass player I replaced had a natural finished one. I liked them, but I really wanted a Jazz bass, which ironically, they really don't sound like. I don't regret passing the black one for what became my #1 bass. Oddly enough, I think the Ibby Eagles sound very much like T-Birds with a little extra low mid girth.
