Seller says it may possibly date from 1992-97. Admittedly I know nothing about how to decipher G&L serial numbers but I don't think the Lynx was made anywhere near 1992-97...pretty sure it's an 80s bass.

Took a look at the G&L Registry, the Lynx is not shown in the 1992-93 or 1993-94 catalogs they have in the photo gallery, or even on the Basses page from the 1988 brochure. The registry shows only one claimed to be post 1988.

The Lynx Bass replaced the first style SB-2 Bass in 1984.  It was basically the same guitar as the early SB-2, but had a rosewood fingerboard and either an ash, maple or poplar body with back contour.  Tonally, the Lynx is a bit midrangey, but the MFD pickups pack a punch.  The Lynx never enjoyed the sales success of the second style SB-series basses and was dropped from the catalog at the end of 1991 when BBE assumed management of G&L.
