After the war all German instrument builders would disappear behind the iron curtain. Fred Wilfer was one of the guys organising a move to the western part of Germany. With American army trucks a lot of amchinery, tools and wood was transported, so Höfner and zome more companies could start again in the American zone. Fred started Framus there. So Fred Wilfer helped Warwick a lot. And you can see a lot of similarities between old Höfner and old Framus instruments.

All those brands come from the area of Markneukirchen. Even mr. Martin of Martin guitars was born in that town.

Fred's son Hans-Peter later started Warwick and bought back the Framus name,
