Title: Some Guys Buy For Fins
Post by: Rhythm N. Bliss on September 08, 2009, 06:34:15 AM
Someone oughta make a bass with an actual '59 Cadillac fin stickin' up off it!
Have the tailight light up when it's plugged in!
Uwe wouldn't buy it cuz he doesn't buy for fins. lol
....but seriously, maybe he would buy one if the fin was mahogany with just the tailight stuck on.

It's the Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird that got me thinking this way.

These are Made In Japan & look at that price tag!
Bet one of you fuggers could make me a lefty one for just a grand, even with a much bigger fin & a working '59 Caddy tailight added, huh?

I guess it'd be pretty big an' HEAVY. So maybe make the tailight half size somehow.
Altho these are mahogany they are chambered so they're light.
So maybe it wouldn't be too heavy even with a full size tailight.

Just an idea.   8)

I think they took them from the 1959 model of the Opel Kapitän.

Wouldn't be too hard to replicate a '57 Chevy Belair tailfin, complete with the ripple panel.
