Wow, is that what they're going for these days? Looks in nice shape, regardless of price.

Remember when Tuxes used to fetch $7-8K?

Paul Boyer

I had a genuine Tuxedo stripped down to maple then clear-satin coated. Looks much better than the banana-meat aged White. It's available, too:

Not long ago a couple sold for just under $2000. So this may be a sign of a revival in the vintage guitar market?

Far fewer Tuxies were made than Blackstars, yet the latter recently have commanded higher prices. As an owner of both st different times I sorta get it I guess.

The Blackstar looks stunning and Jetglo does not age. If I had a yellowed Tux I'd have it refinished in non-yellowing white. And maybe swap the hardware for chrome and white plastic. Kind of like a Snowglo with an enameled white fretboard.

This one looks... perfect in every way. Early '73 JG - maybe this should be called Amber Jetglo -

That my March '73 4001's black brother!  8)  Except, that one has rounded corners on the PU surround whereas mine is square cut.

I was looking at that white one last night. Looks like a re-fin. I think they may have painted over the body binding, and the finish on the neck goes all the way to the neck binding, rather than leaving part of the fingerboard visible.

Nice one! I looked at the seller's other items, must be a vintage bass collection being liquidated.
