I have recently had the pleasure of working with Lars Mullen, of Guitar & Bass Magazine.
He has done a big feature on some of my collection, which is in the shops now.
Vol 25 No. 10.
3000 words, descriptions - stories behind them and lots of pics.

I always buy this magazine, but this one not yet. It's hard to get where I live, but I'll visit Amsterdam this afternoon and I will take a look.

Factor 50, mate - if not, I go a funny brown colour - that's the trouble with
being a Yellow Puppet.
On a different note - I have been in touch with Peter, over the last few days - told
him that 3 of his beauties were in the mag feature.
He did say that maybe one day, he would go up into the loft and bring down
a load of archived stuff. . . . . maybe.
Would be great to see what else he did and who he did it for.
You never know - maybe part deux?

Congratulations on the article. I've never seen that magazine on the stands here, and apparently it's $100 a year to subscribe so I hope they'll eventually put your article in the online edition.

Yes, the article does eventually go on line.
I have had several followers in parts of the world that have never seen the magazine - they
have also asked the same question.
I must say, however, it does look good on paper!
Something of a throw-back to when I used to rush into town in the 70's, to pick up my copy
of "International Musician" (anyone remember that?) and sit and look at the pictures.
The next time, I would read some of the more major stories and then pick it up again and
go through the minor ones etc, I could make it last several days.
A bit of a different experience from today's digital age! ;D

I have always loved the look of the Ibanez Roadstar RB920. I'm sure one day I'll find a nice one. Fender P general shape and 70's 3-tone burst, 2+2 headstock, Ric-ish binding and cresting wave horns, and MM-like sweetspot pickup.

I love your collection. When I started playing, a lot of that stuff was either new, or seen from time to time in stores (back when they were "used" basses... not "vintage" :)). I remember really digging the MPC Outlaws, all the Ibanez stuff, and the Ovations (had a Mag I for several years... liked the Vipers/Preachers, and would still like to get ahold of a Breadwinner or Deacon).

Always facinated by your posts - still can't quite get a handle on you/your basses/your musical experience/your live performences - having said that, you are so right - those two RB's are animals!

As you know, there are SO Many great basses out there, that are Full of Life, that aren't from the usual suspects.
I have Fender, Gibson etc but there are so many more out there to enjoy. :)

It might be interesting to get the PC Firebird and T'bird together at some point too... I don't get up to the midlands at all now with work but it would be fun to visit the collection... it was a great article, as is your blog... ;)
