upgrading the varitone plate
« on: June 19, 2012, 12:57:18 PM »

this is how it is going to look, a very close reproduction. i am also working on a 335 6 position plate gold background with black numbers.
i have to redesign (think resize) and make a new trimming die.

aside from the final trimming to size and the hole in the middle, see if you can spot a goof on this proof. the lousy finish on the proof is the plastic covering i use to protect the plate while working on it ... and that is NOT the goof!

yep! good eye.

thats the reason i get proofs! i finally got hold of an original instead of guessing about the size like i had done and sent it to my jobber to replicate. she got pretty close but didn't answer her phone today. i'll try later. for now it is off to Dar's to get another die made to exactly replicate the size of the originals.

I apologize for leaving this hanging but I came up to Missouri to visit some of my grand kids and ended up spending about 5 weeks total in a hospital and losing my kidney function along with a lot of lung function. Hence moving back to Texas is now not an option. I cannot stand the heat.

all things seem to have been put on hold after that.

the good news is I am going to get my things up here in September, my press and a few prototypes and all my contacts. I will start to work on getting a new die made and some blanks engraved and should be up and going before thanksgiving. I might be moving to Tenn, just north of Nashville but that should not put a strain on my product release date. I met a Tenn woman I think I cannot live without.

again I apologize to all of you.

Wow, CW. Take care of yourself first, the plates can wait. And best of luck with the Tennessee woman.  ;)

Glad to hear from you, CW! And yes, your health and well being are far more important than the other stuff. I'm glad to hear that you're doing better.
