wearing a ring while playing?

Even with a pair of trousers in between, I find it sometimes rubbing uncomfortably against the back of the bass' body. That's just me though. Some of you might actually like it.

(there was a device advertised in Guitar magazine etc years ago called that; some sort of plastic/rubber film that would protect the guitar body from buckle rash.... a quick google couldn't find it, and a younger me didn't get what now seems to have been the obvious joke in the name there).

I'm glad we got to the second page so I don't have to look at that picture! 

I always take my ring off when I get home - but then I realized that when I rehearse or play outside the house I have my ring on, so I need to remember to put it on when I'm practicing so I'm used to it being there - I definitely notice it but I can get used to it.

I think it's the first time I have used it, though I would gladly give up that landmark if it meant I could have lived without seeing that picture! Uh oh, here I go again...

You need one of those double sided bass/guitars. With proper member training you could learn to play both sides at once.

I never wear rings...or watches. Actually, I don't think I own a single piece of jewelry, at least nothing I've worn in the last 30 years. I don't even have a tattoo. Rather odd, since I still have very long hair and look like I'd have some. Only thing I've worn on my finger has been a slide for guitar, when needed.

I find that rings on my left hand annoy me while playing bass, so I switch my wedding ring to my right hand while playing.  I can wear several rings on my right hand and it presents no problem.

That reminds me of a funny anecdote about the CFO at my company - he was in Tokyo recently visiting head office, and a female employee asked him why he was wearing two rings - "Do you have two wives?"

My wedding ring, from summer -76, is on my finger only very seldom. It's when I put on a white shirt, tie, and suit. Which happens maybe once a year. I even change my wrist watch at those occasions, to the gold one my father got for working in the same company for 25 years. Yeah, I spare no expenses!
With bass in hand I always take off my watch. Think it's disturbing in ways I can't explain.

I wear a wedding ring and a pinky ring on the left. That's all I can do. Anything on the other fingers (left hand) messes up my fingering. But those 2 are OK. Also, middle and ring fingers on my right. No issues there.
