My opinion is that all three assertions are wrong.

Pyramids were inexpensive in the 60s, just like Hofners. They were considered good strings, I don't remember anyone thinking they were exceptional. I don't think you would be disappointed in them, they just wouldn't be worth the extra money to me. They're just conventional flatwound strings, nothing magic. Some people have just bought into the marketing hype, that's all.

I agree with Dave, especially on the 3rd. assertion.  TIs are no where near the same tension as Pyramids or any other flat available today.  They are THE lowest tension hands down.  Hence the reason I love 'em so much!

i have recently put sadowsky flats on my old jazz. i don't have any intention of removing them,ever!
(every bass likes a diff. type of string, in my admittedly eccentric opinion)
don't think sad. actually makes short scale strings though...

The Sadowskys only come in long scale. They're made by LaBella to Roger Sadowsky's specifications.
