I got a email from the HOG this morning, they got in a mapleglo 4003s so I popped in to pick it up. Beautiful bass for sure. Pictures tomorrow!

Here we go boys, really a study in understated beauty! Beautiful.
And it looks like they've changed the pickguard shape - now back to sharper corners and NO DOUBLE-HUMP! Or is it just camera angle?
-
My personal favorite...that is so beautiful...
-
Love the S!
-
How is the weigt on that one?
-
+2 on the beautiful...
-
Wow, what a beauty! I second Tom on the S model!
-
Very nice.

+2 on the beautiful...
I can't weigh it but it is one of the heavier Rics I have owned, certainly not bad.
-
THAT is awesome!
-
Gorgeous!
-
Just wish they'd Make the Horseshoe Pickup again!!!
-
They do and you can buy it directly from RIC (http://boutique.rickenbacker.com/PICKUP-BASS-HORSESHOE_p_711.html). I have one on my '73 and it's a fantastic pickup.
-
Baz is talking about the real horseshoe pickup, not the faux horseshoe they offer now while preventing anyone else from making a real one. I have no doubt RIC would lose if their trademark were contested, but a small shop like Lollar can't afford the cost of litigation.
-
Wow, that's the first Mapleglo 4003S I've seen...really NICE!!!
As for the Lollar horseshoe, it's been back on the market for a while.

A little more expensive than it was previously, but back nonetheless.
Bullies don't ALWAYS win...

I'm trying to resist getting one of these. I don't need another Rickenbacker but I've wanted a mapleglo 4003s for a while.
Looks killer!

I am very happy with this bass, a real working man's Ric, bad pun intended.
