One other rule:  When taking, and posting, photos of something highly reflective clothing is not an optional item!;D

The exception being our resident drag queen! lol. Mark wouldn't be Mark without shiny!

I think I have one of your old ones (from a couple of years ago).

to be quite frank, I never had one of the original ones when I decided to make them. I simply looked at some old pictures, guessed at the fonts, the size and measurements, then made them, lol.

at least this time I did some research, bought an original and sent it to Sandy to see if she could duplicate it. she made some original fonts that duplicate the originals as closely as she could and sent me the prototype well over a year ago. I came back to Missouri to visit some grandkids and left my press and die in Texas along with the prototype of the second type never expecting to stay up here. then I got really ill in January just before I was going back to Texas. just this last September I got to go back and bring as much of my things back up to Missouri as I could fit on the truck. my press and the second prototype were among the items I brought back. I did get my instruments and my computer along with most of my clothes.

so that is the short story. I have come from being in a wheelchair and on oxygen constantly to being able to walk, drive and almost act normal. it has taken almost a year to be able to get back that much. I still have to go to dialysis three times a week and the Dr. says I am not a very good candidate for a transplant simply because of the medications I would have to take the rest of my life. it seems the anti-rejection meds are like being on chemo the rest of my life and I am not willing to be that knocked down for the rest of my life. so here I am almost as fuzzy tailed as ever and off oxygen during the daylight chasing the ladies as ever, lol.

I had to break up with Franny as she has all her property and things in Texas and since then I have again seen and broke up with that little model from London. (I don't think she is right in the head even though she is easy on the eyes and richer than hell!) the Texas thing is that I am not willing to drive almost 100 miles each way three times a week to get hooked up to some infernal machine. so like my caption says, I set on the porch playing, singing and have decided to give Carlo heck as he is such a good chap. that's my job.

this is some very good advice, thank you. think I will try an auction then a make an offer. I probably sold 150 of those things on the first type and sent them all over the world. I actually got to the point I was tired of making them.

now if I can sell some of the new type, I will use the money to help build my hot rod. I have been working on the motor and am about 90% done collecting parts for the engine which is the most expensive part but that subject should go into a different thread.

do you think I have been underpricing the plates? the new ones are going to be much closer to the originals!

hey Neep, got the blanks today and they look quite nice. now to try and get hold of Dar and see how and when he can work his magic.

sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy = seems anymore I am a bit on the shakey side but I can assure you it looks nice. all the periods are there as was NOT the case on my prototype. the fonts a bit off verses the original but they are very close. now I have to get a die made to cut them to the original size.

Sandy has programming to make fonts and these are as close as she could get and she had an original I had sent to her to copy from. the font size is very very close and a Gibson fanatic would be hard pressed to see a difference if he did not have an original to compare with. as it is, I had to make them as close as I could but this way I can claim these to be a reproduction and not an original as it carries the Mallory name and part number.

the plan is to sell these, get filthy rich, buy the world and then send Carlo to Mars.

Thanks for popping into my thread.  Nice to hear from you, and as I said before there's honestly no rush for this.

good to be here Neep. had my game set back a year or so but it is coming back slowly. I got the plates ordered from Sandy this morning. it will be after New Years when they arrive and then I have to send a couple to Dar so he can make the die. I know it doesn't sound like much but that last sentence is way more than 300$ so it will take a bit of time for me to pay it off so thanks, it will take a bit of time.

I need to get back going on this anyways and this is a good excuse, in fact a better excuse than most, lol.

I will let you know when I need your address. CW

note to self:
1) order blanks from S
2) get blanks and send one to Dar to make new die
3) trim blank
4) send one to Neep

I apologize for leaving this hanging but I came up to Missouri to visit some of my grand kids and ended up spending about 5 weeks total in a hospital and losing my kidney function along with a lot of lung function. Hence moving back to Texas is now not an option. I cannot stand the heat.

all things seem to have been put on hold after that.

the good news is I am going to get my things up here in September, my press and a few prototypes and all my contacts. I will start to work on getting a new die made and some blanks engraved and should be up and going before thanksgiving. I might be moving to Tenn, just north of Nashville but that should not put a strain on my product release date. I met a Tenn woman I think I cannot live without.

again I apologize to all of you.

Hi CW, found your request on a former computer in my junk email folder, my bad.

Sorry I can't help you on this one.  I could build you a 200S on a chassis that is not identical – vertical front.

I have his number but if anyone wants it they will have to send me an email asking for it. ... cw

I bought an old Dynaco chassis and am planning on using a London Power "F" preamp revoiced for bass for a preamp to the thing. Probably put it in a new cab of some sorts covered with blonde Tolex to match my rig bottoms.

I have blue spark at the right time but I replaced the cap , rotor and points just the same as they had a lot of wear. am tearing the induction/exhaust off right now and so far have found plugged breather holes in the 1943 Marvel cast iron updraft carb and leaking gaskets all over the system leaning out the mixture. muff muff muff pop.

I bought a valve cover gasket and an intake/exhaust gasket along with a new carb mount gasket. compression seems to be fair on all 4 cylinders. I will reset the valves and replace all the gaskets along with opening up the breather holes in the carb and pray that it works.

OTOH: Spiritbass, I am having Rick restore my 60's 2-12 cab, replace the grill (not an original one and turned 90 degrees the wrong way) with oxblood cloth and recover my 50 watt amp head cab with blonde tolex to match the bottoms. wish I had a 100 watt amp.

that is a beautiful cab you have. bet it sounds like a million bucks.
