Title: Fender going direct
Post by: Dave W on August 11, 2014, 09:04:55 PM
FMIC Formulating Plans For Direct ‘Fender’ Product Sales (http://www.msretailer.com/msr/fmic-formulating-plans-direct-fender-product-sales/)

They say they won't be abandoning their dealers, and if they have any sense, they'll never undercut their dealers. We'll see.

BTW, Fender recently abandoned MSRP, like Gibson did a year or so ago. The prices on Fender's website are what used to be the minimum advertised price. Dealers can still sell for less, they just can't advertise for less.

I guess this is the way every will go eventually, I don't like it but you can't stop it.

I just heard Peavey closes its European office in the UK. Also a pity.
