It just "needs restoration to be perfect".
-
but over all I see NO damage to Bass neck or body ...I think someone will make a Pristine instrument out of this beauty
Haha!

"I Know NOTHING about guitars at all ..."
I certainly agree.

That was my favorite line too!
-
3/4 now refers to width...nice
-
What was someone thinking of??? Holy cow, almost brings a tear to the eye! :-\
-
What was it, before someone took a chainsaw to it?
-
surely that is an "on the way too dry side" attempt at ironic humor?
-
Just get yourself a trashed entry level 80s Pacific Rim import bass, add a Gibson neck plate and a possibly working Gibson pickup, and voilà! Instant Gibson!
-
One of Scott "I came, I sawed ..." of Thunder's early (and discarded) projects perhaps?
Personally, I think it showed real promse.

If he sees no damage, he is telling the truth in one respect: he is indeed among the most ignorant people on the planet about stringed instruments.
-
He's a liar and a cheat. This with all due respect of course.
-
Nice tuners...and a more original design than most of the recent Gibson offerings.
-
All it needs is a revolutionary internal circuit that models other basses, and a Steve Jobs type press conference to introduce it to the world.
-
The tuners look appropriate for an early Thunderbird, the pickup has "Gibson" molded into it. The hardware may have some value to it, but I'd want the seller to keep the wood.

Maybe burn it as an offering to the god of luthiery.

But then you couldn't use it to cover anything played by FLASH Cadillac....
-
What, you guys didn't know about the Henry J signature bass?

This guy listed it in the wrong category....Do they have a 'firewood' category? BTW, where can I find a Gibson neckplate? I don't think I have ever seen one......LOL
