Cites and rosewood
« on: October 14, 2018, 10:47:51 AM »
This week I heard CITES might make an exception for musical instrument builders for using rosewood, so maybe no more certificates. I was at Warwick's and they told me it already cost them 100,000 euros and they aren't that big. They also heard this rumour.

It's more than a rumor, it's an actual proposal which will be submitted to CITES by the end of the year and voted on next spring. I hope it passes but I have no idea how much support it will have.

Will CITES II free up trade in music instruments using rosewood in 2019?
