What is this?!!!!
« on: October 16, 2013, 05:54:22 AM »
Is this a mod, a dressed up Epi or have Gibson released a gently modernized budget TBird?

That's a studio model isn't it?  Different bridge and headstock.  Don't know about the colour...thought they only came in black and that's certainly not VS (that's vintage sunburst, Uwe).

Nasty.

Looks like a Studio, but the bridge looks original (or at least a replacement of the original ABM type) to me. It seems like the finish is not as vibrant as cherry finish usually is, but maybe it's just bad photography skill.

Looks like the stock studio with an added pickguard.  It does seem kinda glossy and sometimes like the faded finish tho.

Bad pic of a TB studio with aftermarket pickguard (the black does look better than the stock white considering the black pups.... why they didn't use a black bridge too, or chrome pups, really boggles the mind)?

Considering the blurry focus, it seems just as shiny as the stock pick of a cherry on Musician's Fiend.

That's a studio bird. Had one but hated it....heavy with a really muddled tone...

I excluded the Studio option because (1) the fin seems to be transparent, all studios I own and have seen are solid fin, (2) the body seemed to be not enough rounded, Studios tend to look chubbier.  But the awful pic quality must have led me astray, sorry for confusing things.

I think its sitting in the case is what's creating the optical illusion of sharper body edges. Too bad too, because I like the look.

I waited and waited for a cherry one to come through the HOG. Nothing but black ones.
