« on: October 30, 2012, 10:49:37 AM »Hmmm, I'm really tempted to do the same thing. My custom-made non-reverse sounds better than my '76.My 76 is a completly different bass now.I cant put it down.It sounds as good as my 68 non since i put the thunderbuckers in it.

Yeah, Its a completely different sounding bass now. I still dont like the sound of the 76 pickups but its still way better than the original Mini humbuckers that were in it.Im gonna try a set of those max thunderbuckers in next.

Got the thunderbuckers today.Installed them without a problem. Totally different bass now!The 76 bird is finally singin.

Yep. I had him do a med-lite relic job on it.Checking and a few lite binks on the finish.It looks very REAL

I had an Embassy too for a short while. It was a fantastic bass and really got me turned onto the Gibson vibe.It was a later one so the pickups were stupid hot.Like my 68 NR

Ive had three 62's over the years and ive been a jazz bass guy all my playing days.Until i finally played this particular TBird.Honestly,all kidding aside.The bass smokes them all.The bass i traded for it was a good bass. But not a great bass.The IV i got,Had the original case in super clean shape.The mutes had never been off it,Original covers as well.It wore flats so it had no wear to the frets.Unbroken unmolested condition.Thats the first one i've ever played.I've been totally missing out all this time..

Yeah.....but...Mine is a IV
