This is my Rare Ibanez Destroyer 2495B, 1976 and
after searching for the last couple of years, I have found a
case that fits it perfectly. Yipee!! So. . . . . I can gig with it now!
Well, perhaps.

For all you seasoned Firebird players and similar basses, you
are no doubt used to it being a little neck heavy. Yes?
Well, somewhere I have seen an "S" shaped strap that
helps ease the problem and makes it much more stable.
The thing is. . . I can't remember who does it/where I have
seen it! I think it is a USA product.
Any Ideas??
Hoping you can help.

Anyone else got one? Would love to see some pics.

FE That is just beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought one way back in '76 I still have it ! Though it has been modded a bit over the years  even so I love it just the way it is. As she is now and a few action shots from '76.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/100_1720.jpg)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/scottjade11.jpg)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/scottjade9.jpg)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/godofthunder59/scottjade8.jpg)

I am thinking of pulling the Bart and putting a SD repro Thunderbird pup in there, maybe going back to a w/b/w guard.

Eric, did you see this thread about an S strap? http://bassoutpost.com/index.php?topic=3397.0

This is why I love this board! I'm glad I contacted Glenn for more straps, I knew I could help some people out over here. PM me if you're interested in the strap and I'll send Glenn's email so you can contact him for one.

Those are some great looking basses. The guitarist in my last band has 3 Destroyers all from 1976. One is mint, the other is the one he uses on stage and the last one he bought way back in 1980 at the old Pickers Paradise here in Austin and modded it with DiMarzio's and a Kahler!

Very, Very nice. Love the pics of then and now.
Mine has not been out for some time - my case is the same as you show
but the outside has shot it, with all the panels coming apart.
It has taken me forever to find a suitable case and now, at last, I've
got one. Time to plug it into the big rig!

Thank you, that's the thing. :)
I can sort of see how it might work, so I am going to try and get my hands on one.

FE, How many ply is your pickguard ? I am going to put a white one back on mine. As I recall They are w/b/w.

That's neat!
Allen Collins played an Explorer with an interesting strap which cradled the trailing wing of the body.

iirc he played "strap-over"... I use the same technique with my RD and 'bird... it's good at controling "divers" of this style...
