Paul Rodgers & Queen have parted ways & now Bad Co. has reformed with Paul Rodgers singing & Simon Kirke on drums & Mick Ralphs on guitar & keyboards!!!
Also on guitar is Howard Leese--THE Howard Leese who ROCKED with Heart for over 30 years.

Both Leese and Sorensen can be seen on the Paul Rogers DVD live in Glasgow.

The most strinking appearance on that DVD is the young guitarist Kurtis Dengler

All is well then that ends belatedly, but still soon enough. What a misalignment of talents that was.

So Ralphs has overcome his flight paranoia? Or will he be travelling by coach?

Howard Leese played with Rogers here in Adelaide back in 2001. At a post Adelaide 500 motor race concert.  Shoot me down in flames but he seemed slightly amateurish in his playing. I loved early Heart stuff that I've got on albums but he just seemed out of his depth. Maybe he was just having a bad gig or didnt quite have enough time to get the songs down in time but either way I was disappointed. He played at a noticeably lower level than the rest of the band.

As a huge BadCo fan, I'm happy anytime the original lineup does something, but from what I've read, this tour is something that was almost a necessity in order to maintain the Bad Company brand viability. (strange things can happen to a band's catalog when it's left to wither) They did a one-off show last year in Florida at the Hard Rock Cafe which was recorded for a DVD (to be sold at the upcoming shows and released in August to the retail outlets). Rodgers has said he hopes to include some old BadCo chestnuts in the set, mentioning "Silver, Blue and Gold" in particular. I hope Ralphs playing better than during the 1999 BadCo reunion gigs - he's always been a favorite of mine, but frankly he looked and sounded tired. Personally, I'd rather see them record some new material.

With regard to Howard Leese, he was not in the "guitar hero" role with Heart - that was Roger Fisher. His playing is serviceable, but he won't set the world on fire. He's been playing with Rodgers for years, who likes to use familiar faces on tour - no surprises.

Leese could play a reasonable lead, but they lost out when Fisher split...

There was a bar that I did work in from time to time (in Kent...?) near where PR lives/lived and the landlord got on with him - had a nice collection of unreleased stuff on tape gifted too him...

Are they planning to record...? I still seriously rate his voice... they were a brilliant live act...

Note the Ovation guitar sister Nancy plays on the intro and throughout - and the sunburst Jazz bass.

I agree, I thought the band in Heart was kick-ass.

Denny Carmassi in the 80s

Howard Leese has production skills that make him a valuable asset to a band.

 As they are a local band I saw them quite afew times, in their early days they actively liked being known as "Little Led Zepplin", and I'd have to say I liked them best with Derosier, Steve Fossen (works @ BassNW!) and Roger Fisher, I think the band was at it's best as songwriters at that point.
 The husband of one of my ex-wife's girlfriends  worked as Denny Carmassi's drum roadie during his time with Heart and thus toured with them, one evening my wife and I took her to pick her husband at Boeing field after a tour. We were in my 69 Caddy, a good thing 'cause we ended up giving Denny a ride home that night too!   
 That clip sure reminds me of when I drove to Vancouver,B.C. to see Heart with a bunch of highschool friends..........That was quite a weekend 

 I did get to see Bad Co. one time very early on with their original lineup and they were a great show, nothing flashy, but they really performed their music well and in retrospect I'm very glad I got to see them.  I've always liked Paul Rodgers alot, his voice (and Andy Fraser's bass) were one reason I liked Free so much............

Denny Carmassi is one of my favorite small kit players.  The third Montrose album is my favorite, and he does some very nice, tight stuff there.
