Title: "61 EBO Pickup #25 Reused?
Post by: Grog on November 26, 2010, 03:57:41 PM
This Pickup posted on eBay has etching on the back, "#25 Reused". The seller seems to find it puzzling & so do I. Any ideas what this could mean?

Could the bass it came from have been a salesman's demo or even a prototype of the SG style EB-0?

Probably didn't mean a rewind.

I would not be surprised if Gibson pulled it from another bass - EB2 or something that got wrecked in the factory - and reused it in that EB0.  I think Gibson did stuff like that all the time, and left half-finished stuff lying around for years, then sent it out with serial numbers or whatever out of whack with the period.
