Took the BaCHbird to rehearsal last night.
Great reactions from the band.
Playing the BaCHbird is hard work. Without any doubt the least ergonomical bass the I own. Heavy and neckheavy. And to make things worse the lower regions are really almost out of reach. So your left hand sort of gets tired after a while.
But none of that comes as a surprise. That is just how the Non Reverse Thunderbrid was designed...
The sound is good. I cuts through and is "there".
The BaCHbird does not have that typical "mid growl" or "bark" that my other Tbird does have (a Greco). But maybe that one sounds more seventies rather than sixties.
I am most definitely going to install a second humbucker. Now don't get me wrong: the Artec humbucker really does a great job. But I happen to be a fan of the sound of two humbuckers.
Tonight I placed an extra strapbutton on the neck heel, just past the joint (at the 15th fret). No more neck dive!
