That's cute, but they should have used some actual emo bands.

That is bizarre. I wonder if the extra ears can hear too?

Fender Basses / Re: mahogany Precision

Patrick Dalheimer from Live used to use a 60's Fender mahogany P a lot. It's the one he's pictured with on the cover he did for BP years backs.

I like the look of the new site, and that natural finish Decade Eric from the Swaybacks has is VERY droolworthy!

I ONLY BUY VINYL. i have plenty of cd's,mp3's and even tapes.but they were all freebees.i only buy vinyl.
pretty good band too.how much for a 7"?

You can buy it at www.clue2records.com, with paypal or snailmail cash or m.o., and it's $5.75 shipped. It was pressed on super thick vinyl, so unfortunately it exceeds 100 grams, and has to post as the next highest post rate.Though you can also get it from No Idea or Ebullition in the states.

A few people have asked if it's a Rickenbacker, but it's actually a P-Bass. My SVT died literally as I turned it on to record ( ), so i had to use an EBS Fafner in a pinch. It's not quite the tone I wanted, but it's in the ballpark. My signal chain was P-Bass>Budda Phatbass (always on)>E-H Bass Microsynth (set for distortion only)>EBS Fafner amp>Bergantino NV610 cab, and yes the cab was mic'ed.

Thank you all very much guys for your kind words.

Chromiuim if you have any recordings of your Discord-ish band I'd like to hear them.

The Outpost Cafe / My Band has a new 7" record out
« on: July 23, 2008, 10:04:35 AM »

Hey guys,
Please excuse the shameless plug, but one of the bands I play in has a new VINYL 7" record out now. The band is called All Through A Life. Yeah, I know, vinyl, the format of medieval times, but the punk rock kids still love vinyl, so there you go. I don't think there are many vinyl fans here, or fans of angry, screamy hardcore punk music, but if you're curious you can check it out at:

www.clue2records.com

and our myspace is at www.myspace.com/allthroughalife

Thanks!

If you like the Locust check out HeadWound City and Some Girls, both side bands of members of the Locust. HWC has members of Blood Brothers too, and SG has the singer from Give Up The Ghost in it.

The Outpost Cafe / Re: What was the last comic book you've bought?

Yup!  I even dug into Captain America more when Kirby took over the helm.

As a sidebar, I took my son to a comic convention when he was younger.  Sergio Aragones was there, and my son asked him to draw The Green Lantern.  Go figure.  Sergio gave him a funny look, but gave him a cute version ala Aragones.

Hah, that's cool that he obliged your son. I read Groo when I was a kid. I havn't kept up with Groo recently but there seems to be a resurgence of his comics on the shelves now.

The Kirby-esque art style is part of the reason I like Mike Mignola's stuff.

I had a ton of the mid '70s Marvel and DC comics.  I was big on Kamandi, The Demon, Forever People, New Gods...all that.

The last new comic I got was a signed copy of Spawn, based on the movie.  I got it for my son.

Sounds like you were a Jack Kirby fan. Good taste!

well i've always loved comics.i have a bunch from the 70's that my parents bought me when i was a little kid.i collected from the mid 80's until about '94.(Marvel,DC and independent stuff)at that point i realized i was spending waaaaaay too much money so i stopped except for Spawn, which i had every issue.then they got sucky so i stopped at issue 100. that was the last one i bought.

Try trade paperbacks. They're a lot of bang for the buck and there are tons of good comics available in the format now. I buy very few actual monthly issues anymore, only a couple things I know won't be made into trades.

Lightning Bolt are a sweet band.

Another band you might want to check out it Noxagt. Not really similar to Lightning bolt other than both being heavy, but their bass player has a pretty big sound too. Their most recent self titled record is what I recommend.
