I had no idea Carl T. ever made "normal" basses. Too bad he doesn't have any sound samples. Interesting bridge and tailpiece arrangement too.
It's rare when an auction that claims "RARE" is accurate. This one really is.

I had no idea either. It sure looks better than his later basses. If it is indeed a real example of his early work.

Yes, the bridge looks a bit Wishbass-y. Still, it could work. I guess he wanted less punch or clank, and more acoustic, woody tone. That's why the single pickup is located near the neck. I'd be interested to hear sound samples of this bass.
