1964 Wyman-ish Framus - advice on price
« on: December 07, 2019, 02:54:12 PM »
Model 5/149 Star Bass, listed at EUR 559 ($616) BIN with a make offer option. What do you think is a good/realistic price?

It's missing the pickguard but a replica can be made. Non original (probably Höfner) bridge.

This one sold for £480  ($630) three years ago:

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Wow. I don't know an accurate value, but that doesn't seem much out of line.  Hopefully someone will know more.

That bass is very cool!

I saw one like this about 10 years ago, shortly before I moved back to Minnesota. It was priced at about $500. IIRC it had the original bridge.

This one doesn't seem too far out of line, I don't think they have appreciated in value since. And there's that make offer button.

Throw in a €450-500 offer and see what happens? If the instrument is structurally OK and the pickup is working, the price is in the right region?
