Fly Guitars site down ?
« on: March 12, 2021, 12:54:25 AM »
I've noticed that for several days the Fly Guitars site - my preferred "quick and dirty" source for info on Gibson basses - has been down. This is the error that I'm getting:

Quote
Fatal error: Redefinition of parameter $spare in /home3/magicbus/require/fg/page.inc on line 865

Has anyone else encountered this or has any info on what's going on over there ?

I get the same message. But Jules' companion site is operative. https://www.vintageguitarandbass.com/

I just messaged Jules on Facebook to alert him in case he doesn't know.

Just heard from Jules, he wasn't aware. Apparently there's been a change of php version on the server. He'll get right on it.

Thanks for reaching out to the owner, I really hope that the site comes back up shortly.

Jules' site is more popular than I'd realized. I've seen a number of concerned posts about it over the past week. I'm glad it's nothing that can't be fixed.

I've had an issue for months where the Thunderbird page, and ONLY that page on his site, gives me a fatal error when I try to load it. Does that happen for anyone else?

Yep. I'm getting an error, actually two different ones on two different pages while the other two Bird-related-pages load just fine.

That wouldn't be the same issue that caused the whole site to go down, but I'll let Jules know.

No didn't think it was, but was wondering if other people were still seeing it after the site was brought back up. Cleared all my caching, renewed dns, etc, and no change, but thought the site going down and brought back up might have resolved it. Thanks for passing it on!
