Diggin' Shindig's dogs!

Holy cow! You Americans are lucky ones! You had all this good music, while we folks in the cold North had to enjoy the pleasures of Säkkijärven Polka. While being a great tune, one needed a shot of r'n'b, with just a little rock'n'roll on the side.
Don't ask me how I found the following, but somehow, while fooling around looking for something-nothing on the net, I went to Youtube. And got into the house band of your TV-show Shindig. They were called The Shindogs. Never heard of them before. Listened, and heard magnificient guitar playing. It was James, yes, the James, Burton on Telecaster, another guy on Gibson guitar, a bass player on what could be them plywood basses - you all know which ones I'm refering to -  and a drummer plus keys. Apparently the band members were different from time to time.
One version looked like this, found on a page devoted to Burton.

The bass in the picture we all recognize, and it's not the one mentioned above.
But who were the other guys? Did they tour? Do you have any memories of The Shindogs? Were there any hoopla about them (now I know you guy's got a vivid imagination, som just let the pictures keep on coming)? And was that bass really a...?
While you're thinking, here's a tune with some great guitar playing:

Never heard anyone moving around that classic riff so freely. Nice Everly singing.

PS Just got to know that the bass player is Delaney Bramlett! Another piece in the puzzle!

I don't remember any hoopla about them. They were a house band, not stars in their own right. At the time, I knew James Burton was the guy from Ricky Nelson's band but had never heard of Delaney Bramlett.

It's one of those things you can appreciate many years later.
