LOL - did you notice the A tuner?  The post is too small for the peghead hole.

That is period correct for a block inlay 1980 EB3

From a the Norlin period when they mandated Gibson copy the Japanese copies.

Amazing the attention to detail... the bridge pickup alignment is right on par with my real EB3

Can those guys make a copy or what!?     :P

What a bargain! Is that an early Hipshot "Drop A" prototype tuner?  ;)

Too crude for a Japanese copy. Looks more like one of those primitive copies from the Philippines that you'd see back then.

The listing would be accurate if they took the word "Gibson" out of the auction title. The auction text doesn't claim that it is...but it's listed as a Gibson. I don't know that Ebay has a reason to force that change.

They will force that change if they can determine that it's not a Gibson. Unfortunately they can't be experts on every class of merchandise.

I do not bother contacting sellers I won´t be buying from, normally. On the odd occasion I have contacted sellers to help, like if they list  60´s gibsons for sale when they are from the 70´s. Their responding is anything from gratefulness to hateful threats, though.

If you get hateful threats, it's usually because the seller knows exactly what he has and is trying to pass it off as something else. OTOH I've seen people sometimes jump to the wrong conclusion and attack an innocent seller. Under the circumstances, I can't blame a seller for being angry.

You have the right idea, don't contact them unless you're bidding or buying. It's tempting to try to save someone else from grief when you know it's fake, but you can't save the world.

I will contact sellers if I think a listing is wrong in an important aspect and have had a variety of responses.
This one was initially advertised as a 78.
I contacted the seller recently to suggest they looked into it a little further because I suspected it was actually earlier- possibly somewhere between 72 and  75. I gave him some hints on where to look. He thanked me and relisted as a 74.
Hasn't sold because it is still too dear for the market here.
Not a Gibson but it does have a Schaller bridge.  :)

We even had one particularly unpleasant seller join Ozbass so he could fight with us about a discussion we were having in our eBay thread about a couple of very his dodgy listings. What fun!

I've told some sellers that their Q-90 is really a Q-80 (or vice versa) or that their "Victory" is really a Q-80. They were always appreciative of that.
