Saunders' strange bass
« on: December 02, 2015, 07:13:41 AM »
It's there on a back cover of Jan Hammer Group w/Jeff Beck "Live"). Is it the piccolo bass Fernando sometimes used (for example on the song "Oh Yeah?"). Any info?

A brilliant album. Tony Smith is the most underrated and also best drummer from the fusion era. Beats Cobham and Walden if you ask me.

I asked Fernando about it in Facebook and he says the pic was manipulated as he, Tony Smith ans Stephen Kindler were cut out of it. Somehow it made his Ric look like one strange 4001/Strat hybrid.
