Peavey TKO-65 in AMPEG Rocket Out!
« on: July 09, 2015, 03:49:34 PM »
I posted several months ago about being intrigued with the Peavey TKO-65. Well came across one the other day at a great deal and all in good physical condition and everything else in order. It is on the heavier side, but does have wheels. So putting this along side by side and comparing with my (also heavy) Ampeg Rocket 100....I prefer the Peavey. Somehow the natural tones of various Jazz, Precision,Celinder and Gibson Les Paul Signature, EB-0 and TBIV basses were preferable on all of them. This was a ear opening series of 'moments' for me. I don' t at this point need 2 heavier combos as I have several very nice lighter weight amps. So I never thought I would let the Rocket go but thats the way it goes.

i have a roland 60 combo that is similiar to your peavey. 60 watts, 1x15 speaker. it also weighs a ton but is indestructible and  with the perfect tone for me. it has to be 30 years old.
i play my tacoma olympia abg though it.
