Geddy whips them out!
« on: May 11, 2015, 12:45:40 PM »
Rush is back on tour and it seems Geddy is using a lot of basses from his ever expanding collection. There's many Jazz Basses, a Precision, a 4080/12 Rick for "Xanadu" and even a pink Paisley Tele. And a non-reverse II.

And, did you further know what bridges are on some of those basses?  There is a LBO connection there.

The non-rev must have that bridge by Scott then, right?

This pic with the Paisley Tele is great and Geddy's expression is priceless.  "I didn't know I had this one too" :D

I watched a clip of Xanadu last night and it was GREAT to hear that band with a Ric bass again. Looking forward to June 12! Curious to see what songs the T-birds appear on. I saw a shot of him playing a reverse as well.

Does not appear to be a Badbird on there....................yet. I know there is one on the '64 and his Embassy and I think one on the Pelham Blue NR.

The non-rev sounds great and that song took me by a surprise. Sounds almost like REM and that's not a put down. I think I might reconsider "Vapour Trails" as it is now available in remixed form.

I noticed he hasn't swapped out the bridges on the 2 Rics I've seen him using so far. I just watched a clip of Cygnus X-1 and he had some WICKED sounding Jazz Bass.

It seems he is using the mono output of the Rick. What is that 4001, a '73?

The burgundy 4001 is listed as a '68. That 4080/12 is interesting. I could swear it has full width inlays, and the gold guards are not something I've seen from Ric before (on that model). I wonder how Fender feels about his new traveling bass show?  8)

I would guess whatever agreement he had to play Fender has expired.  Maybe thhey need to put more coin in the meter.
